Materials Reviewed for Custom CNC Parts
Custom CNC machined parts are quoted after reviewing the drawing material note, quantity and application requirements. Common RFQs include stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass, copper and selected engineering plastics. If a substitute material is acceptable, it should be confirmed before quotation.
Processes and Drawing Review
Depending on geometry, a custom part may require CNC turning, CNC milling, drilling, thread machining, deburring or a secondary finishing step. We review the drawing to identify critical features, machining access, tolerance notes and inspection points before preparing a quote.
Inspection and RFQ Information
Useful RFQ information includes 2D drawings, 3D models, material grade, quantity, critical dimensions, surface finish and inspection requirements. Critical dimensions are reviewed from the drawing rather than assumed from the part name.
